Selective School List

Remember the plan that we talked about in the post '11 Plus Exams - A Mum's Perspective'?

The first point was to know the schools you want to apply to. So we've given you a little assistance by listing 90+ selective schools across England along with their location, the source of the entrance exam paper, the registration date and the gender of students.

We can't stress enough to know the schools timetable and ensure when your child is in Year 5 by April you must have point 1 of the plan ready to go, because in May you will need to be registering with schools for their Entrance Exams.

Know the schools you want to apply to - know the requirements for that school. It could be that they have Maths, English, Verbal Reasoning and Non Verbal Reasoning in their selection tests. You need to know which subjects your child needs to practise. You may have to move into a catchment area for the school to take the test or move into the catchment area to accept the school place if you are successful.

Note:

In the below list of selective schools the application dates and type of 11+ test are for guidance only. The school's do change these and you must check with the relevant school on their admission process for the year you wish your child to enter.

All selective schools in the list below have their examinations in September, this ensures that you know the results before putting in your application for secondary schools in October.

Entrance Exam registration will be between the April and June when your child is in Year 5.
